Dear all

I am honoured to be sending this message to the people of Victoria as part of the first of a new series of Newsletters.

This is the start of a new year, a new decade, and a new era in the life of Victoria Hospital. The year will come with new ideas, new goals and also new challenges that will stretch all of the Victoria people. However our overall mission remains the same, to provide outstanding medical care to the people of our community in this part of the city of Cape Town.

How we live up to that mission will depend on the dedicated and diligent efforts of every one of our people. Our buildings and some of our equipment may be old, but our people are our greatest strength, and we as a board will be focussed on getting the best out of every single one of you, so that we can all be proud of Victoria as an excellent hospital, and proud of the service we are providing to the community.

We would like to wish Jonathan Vaughan and his team all the strength, wisdom and endurance that they will require to enable them to lead Victoria into the new decade.
